Since I quit my full time job about a month ago, every Tuesday I try to take the kids on a little adventure without spending too much money, whether it be the beach, petting zoo or a picnic!

Last Tuesday I took my kids and my mom to a lavender farm about an hour from where we live.

{if you look closely there is a bee on one of the lavender blooms....}

It's called Keys Creek Lavender Farm, and we had so much fun! The lavender was gorgeous and smelled wonderful...the lavender only blooms May, June and July here in california and I suggest making a trip out there if you live locally....its a pretty drive and an even prettier place!

This last photo one is one of my faves!

Blondiensc~ The Vintage Shoppe Girl~

It has been a whirlwind of adventures lately, as both of my boys turned a year older, 10 days apart from each other and I finally quit my day job! Today makes my second day of being a stay at home mom, apart from my part time gig, which actually doesn't seem like a real job anyway!

Today I found some free time to add some items to my etsy store, for those of you that are used to looking in my "Tara's Vintage Kitchen" store, well I am going to throw you a curve ball, I listed everything under "Blondiensc", it just made more sense since my blog is "Blondiensc" and my email and my facebook page {yes I finally made one}...I suppose I am trying to keep a theme here! 

Anyway, here are a few things I added today...there is still loads more siting in vintage suitcases through out my house, so check back often as new items will be added hopefully daily!

You can also find me as "blondiensc" on Facebook...I would love it if you would come and visit. I hope to share some furniture finds and updates on my etsy store there as well. I was always one of those people that didn't want to be a part of "Facebook" but after some nudges from my friends, I got suckered into it! Honestly it is pretty fun!

Thanks for all your support and love...I have lots to share with you...as some rearranging has taken place in our nest over the last 6 months....

Summer Apparel~

Hello lovelies....how are things? We have been keeping busy with all kinds of nonsense latey...complete and utter nonsense, like work and house chores and grocery shopping...but I did get some clothes shopping in on my hour lunch break....a girl has to have some priorities, right?

I know it is only February 23rd, but for some reason I am thinking about my summer wardrobe....perhaps it is the 75 degree weather we are having or the fact that soon my feet won't know what heels are, and i am sure they will be thanking me over and over and over for that!

I went with a co-worker over to the mall the other day, and in my not so usual fashion I picked up not one but three pairs of shorts!

**gasp**

Shorts?

I don't wear shorts, I don't know why, but when I think of summer clothes shorts are not at the top of the list...however these  were just too cute to pass up.

Just the right length for me as I have a 10 month old who still loves to be picked up and carried around. With these when I bend over, I won't feel like my booty is hanging out for the world to see, cause honestly my booty is not something the world needs nor wants to see!

For $39.50 you can't really go wrong....

I don't get all crazy during summer in the shoes department, a good pair of flip flops, my converse and bare feet due me just fine!

I also ordered two pairs of these Twill Shorts in the longer length I might add...so that makes 3 pairs of shorts for me!

I also love these Tank Tops from Target, for $8.00 they are fantastic!

A great length and really soft. They wash up well too!

I also have a couple pairs of these for summer...after all, they are made in my hometown!

I am sure Anthro has a cute summer getup...

 But I need to stick to a budget, so this summer shorts will be my summer apparel!

Now, my next task...a tan! My legs are entirely too white!

I might need to paint my toes too...just sayin'...pretty toes, shorts, sandals...and sunshine...Sign me up!

4 Weeks Left~

We have 4 weeks left until our wee one joins our now family of 3 to make 4...we are eagerly anticipating his arrival, well maybe just me because my feet are getting fat and swollen from sitting behind this desk all day, and my belly is so big that I can't go anywhere without people asking if I am due any day...you should see their faces when I tell them I still have 4 weeks....it is priceless...

I know I promised photos of his nursery, and the loft, and of me, but guess what I have none of those today...nope...the loft is still in the process of becoming grandma's quarters and the nursery doesn't have a crib up yet. I wanted to be completely done when I hit my 8th month, but apparently well laid plans don't always pan out....

We did take family photos two weekends ago, I am awaiting those, so I can show you just how big I am, well my belly that is...I sadly have gestational diabetes again, this will be my second baby and my second go around with gestational diabetes, and let me just say it is kicking my ass, and yes you would say that too, if you dined on carrots, cheese, nuts, water and mustard ( I could eat a whole bottle of mustard a day) on a daily basis. Did I mention I don't eat much meat? Finding foods I can eat that won't set my little black meter that checks my blood sugar off the Richter scale or put me in a diabetic coma has been challenging...but I will survive, I have another little punk who is worth eating like this for. The good news is I haven't gained that much weight, so i just look like i have a basketball tucked under my shirt...

So you might be wondering what the heck I am doing on here, if i have nothing to show you...besides running my mouth, which I like to do, as much as I like to shop, so I thought I would show you what I bought for the baby off etsy!

Now we just need baby to fill up the room we have created and his comfy carseat so he can take rides with us down to the beach!

 I also re-did some parts of my son's room, and bought a few things off etsy, but this post is pretty full, so I will be back and show you those!

I am off to finish my carrots, string cheese and bottle of mustard, and i just noticed the bottle of mustard has direction for use on it...really? they must add that for pregnant mindless people like me!

P.s. My son is starting to sing in the car...he was all over Katie Perry's Fireworks song and the pool man said he digs ACDC, so at least he will be well rounded in the music arena!

Flea Market Sale~

Hello lovelies~

First, thank you all so much for the special messages and comments on my blog about our baby news and as much as i would love to give you all the details and describe the look on the pool man's face when I told him another punk/punkett is entering our life, I can hardly put two sentences together, my brain is mush, complete and utter mush.

yeah don't ask me how work is going, cause it ain't...but shhh, don't tell my boss!

Over the weekend i realized my Etsy shoppe has been sorely neglected, and well I am finding it hard to shoppe for new items and to be completely honest I can't fork out the money to update the shoppe right now, so I went and got a little crazy with a Flea Market Sale in our Shoppe. I took the liberty of saving you the hassle of bargaining with me like you would do at the flea market and went ahead and marked everything 50% off.

 

 

 

And, this brings me to my other point....I think, and i could be wrong here in a few weeks but I am going to be closing the store for a while. It just seems like the right thing to do, as I just don't find packaging boxes with lovely ribbon and pretty tissue as enjoying as laughing with my son because he just tooted and thinks it is hilarious!!

{he totally gets this from his father....}

 

So I hope you can forgive me, I seem to be up to my eyeballs in goofiness and soaking up life right and left, not to mention a lot of re-arranging will be going on soon in our nest...therefore one more thing might push me over some invisible cliff I often speak of to the pool man!

Sunshine~

There is just something about sunshine, it grounds me and feeds my soul, and in return happiness blooms around me.

Lately we have been soaking up as much sunshine as we possibly can, where we live school has not started yet {not until September 7th}...and my punk is going to his first year of preschool, which doesn't make me sad, nope not one bit because my son was born a people person. He runs to say hello to just about any kid on the street, he waves to passer-byers on the street, he stops to talk to the gardener and ask him about his "blower" and "weed whacker", he gels with adults and gets along with children of all ages. It is pretty much a party 24/7 for my punk!

Preschool ain't got nothin' on him!

He was meant for preschool, he needs that structure, he needs routine, he needs the friendships, that is just how my son works. Do I worry about him, sure, I worry that he won't be able to focus in school, he has a short attention span, and of course I will worry about his safety, being that he has epilepsy, but I won't let that worry get in the way. Nope, I am determined to embrace this new stage with all my heart and support him in every way possible...now just ignore me the first day of preschool, as I drive away to my big girl job with tears rolling down my face!

However, since school hasn't started yet, we are soaking in the sunshine....all three of us. And since the sun has a way of making us all happy, I thought I would share my happy list with you, which includes items from etsy that have been in my favorites for quite some time....cause well those make me happy too!
