This past year I have changed quite a few things in my home, and as i painted my bedroom last weekend it occurred to me that I seem to be leaning more towards a farmhouse style in my home.
At least I think i am...not completely sure.
{mom, don't comment...!}
I ran across these photos through Country Living the other day, and each photo has an element i would love to incorporate into my nest.
I thought I would share, cause that is what friends do.
But, if there is one last Starburst sitting between the two of us at the movies, I am not that good of a friend...don't ask 'cause I won't share!
This surprises me, but I really like that painting. Perhaps it just goes with the whole flow, but the cows are calling to me....now they aren't saying milk me, cause i have no idea how to do that...they are just a callin'...remember I am a seaside beach girl, wishing I had a farmhouse....that doesn't mean I want the work of living on a farm.
Although the animals would be super fun to take care of!
Until, I had to pick up the poop and clean the stalls...ok never mind, forget i said that..
Moving on.
The faucet is an iron hand pump that dates back to the 1800's...
I don't even need to say anything here....but...I will cause that is how I roll:
Chippy paint.
Vintage cabinet.
Enamelware.
Dish sets.
Collections.
Reclaimed barn wood.
Napkin.
For drool.
This whole photo screams farmhouse to me.
Cozy.
Mismatched.
Gorgeous Wood floors.
Amazing light.
And look at the front door...seriously...Heaven.
{add a comfortable silence between the two of us here....}
{And one here too....}
Sorry, my gum smacking can be totally annoying huh?
I ruined the silence, my bad....
Now check out the sink....
Doesn't that single sink, and let's not mention the cabinets, the wood beams on the ceiling and the abundance of storage for "collections" acquired through the years...
Sorry sidetracked....back to the sink....that sink would sell me on this kitchen alone!
This would make a great guest room!!
That wainscoting has me spinning in circles like a dog chasing its own tail...
I love it!
There it is again...
That sink....
Haunting me...make it stop!
The Chippy paint cabinet, the gorgeous wall color and the accessories all add a little farmhouse chic to me!
The fabric skirt adds just a perfect touch of country.
And, I spy come chunky baseboards....
I heart chunky baseboards...A LOT!
I could throw all of these room into one house and be totally completely satisfied....
for a little while that is...
I am for one, never completely satisfied...
Always moving, changing....re-arranging.
Don't worry I went through a lot of therapy and it never helped my never feeling completely satisfied problem.
{that was an odd sentence, sorry my bad}
I am beginning to think there is no solution!
I have learned to live with it....part of my makeup if you will!
Now, me thinks I need to find some cute cowgirl boots those are calling me too!
Yehawwww...
Cheers to the lovely little things we find happiness in!
P.S. I am over here today!

I just have to say how nice it is to see you back on my blog list. Sure did miss ya.
It's a good thing our taste change and we change things around. We all need a beach house, a farm house and maybe a cabin in the woods. It would get boring. I think of homes that stay stagnet for years.
Happy Wednesday to ya!

Love it all.
Please don't smack gum, LOL
Farmhouse sink? You have no idea how much I want one.
A cow? Not so much.
The boots - begged for a pair last night.

EEEK! Those last two pictures have sent me into daydreaming heaven. You made my morning so much better...now I have to go milk my goats. And clean their stalls. Hehe. Really. I have eight goats. :)

I too loooove all those photos. However, you can have the cow painting :)
that sink is dreamy. Chippy is my favorite. Especially if it is really chippy....not made to be chippy. I always imagine where it was. For some reason there are always kids in my imagination.
Let's buy a farmhouse together. I will take care of the animals :)

I was drooling over those sinks just the other day. I told my hubby I want one in our farmhouse (you know, the one we don't have on the land we don't own...) and one of those pump faucets too. Heavenly! I think the cow picture is just perfect, but we own about 10 cows and calves (just not the land they eat) - so we're down with all that.

Saw you on Frenchie and Flea today, I'm totally stalking you!
I adore the blue is it milk glass if its blue? tableware.
Also, I spend a lot of time fantasizing about a room with floor to ceiling bookshelves. I am totally drooling over that picture.

Oh, me too, me too! I can never define my "style" because I like so many elements of different styles. I found something I love in every one of those pictures. Nice!
P.S. I haven't decided about the settee. I would love to cover it (it just won't work well otherwise) but reupholstering is so expensive! Think I can do it myself? HA!

Simply adore that first bed photo! How incredibly cozy and inviting it looks to me.
I am thinking that the real key for me is to not define my style, seeing as there really is no definition to what I like - it really is so eclectic!

I could live in that house! In fact, right now I want to take a flying leap onto that bed and just ball up my fists and drum onthe pillows in glee! Perhaps it reminds me of the coziness of my grandma's old house... Something about farm-style decorating is homey and comforting. I have a picture with cows and a barn that has been in my un-farm house for years. I think I just figured out why I love it!

See? this is why I need 9 lives. One life: Farmer's wife. One life: beachside in the south of France (imagine ALL the old french antiques...!!!) One life: in a high rise in a big city - new york, london, chicago!?
I LOOOOOOVE that you're back. I LOOOOOVE these pics!

You had me at FARMHOUSE STYLE!
A Starburst Stingy.. are you! Couldn't get an orange one from my girlie 6 year old last night... nope. Only a pink one.. yuck! Not to suggest that your character confession is anything like my kindergartner. Just saying!

Love love your photos - I plan on ripping out all my baseboards for chunky ones, adding reclaimed beams to some rooms and on and on. NOw if only my budget could keep up with my day dreaming.
