Making MY house a home is all in the details. I try to add treasures that appeal to me, have sentimental value or something I fell in love with instantly. When I decided it was time to make over the dining room table, I instantly fell in love with these pillows from White Twig.
Then I turned to Hollie at Inspire your Walls to help me add fancy numbers to the back of each chair. 5-8 to be exact. Why 5-8, say it with me, "that is for another post!" Te hee.
But, I wasn't completely satisfied yet, until I found this sweet linen ribbon from Lola B's Boutique and without a doubt I knew I had to have it!
I kinda sorta as you might already know have an addiction to ribbon .
Which in this case added the final feminine touch I was looking for.
Now, I told you last week I was on the hunt for a new light for the dining room,
and guess what?
DRUM roll PLEASE.....
I never found one.
I have hunted.
Looked countlessly for the "perfect fit" but quite frankly Girls, I just dunno.
Not sure what I want...this could be a 1st!
So, now I turn to you. What kind of light would you suggest for my dining room table? This is what I have right now and it came with the house. Ok, but I would like something a little more, I dunno...."me", whatever that is!
Now, I am not all crystals and bling though...so don't even try to go there! {{giggle}}
This last piece of the puzzle keeps me up at night tossing and turning. Are you like that? When you want something, you just want it?
Please help~
Here is an idea of what sits directly behind my table against the wall:
An antique China buffet on loan from my parents. I think they forgot they are loaning it to me though...I have had it for over 6 years.
The bottom part holds all my fancy dinner party plates, bowls and cups along with fancy silverware, which has only been used a handful of times...now, that just tells you many dinner parties I have had!
Cheers to a finding the "Perfect Details" to make your house a home~

Love the numbers on the back of the chairs. I have been wanting to do that to my ugly dining chairs I can't get rid of!

I love how the ribbon turned out! I'm adding it to the shop this week and selling by the yard.
Your chairs are fabulous, and I love the numbers.

Hey Lady...you may not give a hoot, although I checked out one of your blogger comments from Honey Bend Vintage who's blog topic today was P.O.S.H. Chicago, which led me to this vintage monogrammed ribbon (I had to buy my maiden name initials & my hub's..sold out on some already) but they might have yours, ribbon lady. Looks like very cool vintage Frenchy. Check it out. =)Did you chk out At HOme With White, yet? Smiles, ang d.

Ohhhhh, I love your dining room. I no longer have one. :( Only a small eat-in kitchen. Love the pillows, the chair bows, and the numbers. Could you possibly paint the light fixture you now have and change the shades? Just a thought. Whatever you decide I'm sure it will be gorgeous. ♥

I think a candle type chandelier would look great in your casual dining room like this http://www.lightingdirect.com/index.cfm/page/product:display/productid/mx%2010975/manufacturer/maxim/finish/oil%20rubbed%20bronze&source=shopzilla&cse=shopzilla

That ribbon makes those chairs! What a fabulous idea!!! Have you looked at school house electric or rejuvination hardware for lighting? They are both local Portland companies but you can browse online and order.
